LEGS 11 – KICKS BACK IN 2008

In 2006 Sahara Herald Shepherd and Kristen Francis, the ladies behind the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) fundraiser LEGS 11, brought discerning Sydney-siders together for a sophisticated, intimate and relaxed evening of live entertainment and fine fare beneath the stars at the Domain.

Unlike any other event on the festival calendar, the night was so well received, and driven by those touched by this indiscriminate disease, Sahara and Kristen felt compelled to make LEGS 11 an annual event.

In 2008, their vision for LEGS 11 remains true but after considerable heart felt deliberation, they have decided the event will not take place this year for personal reasons.

It’s been a difficult year for co-producer Sahara Herald Shepherd whose mother who is not only an inspiration, but also a pillar of strength to her family as she fights her own breast cancer battle.

Planning to spend more quality time with her family in the coming months, Sahara said “It’s one of the strange ironies of life that when Kristen and I started Legs 11 my mother had not yet developed breast cancer. Her battle has now made the show that much more personal for us.”

“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the people involved with LEGS 11 – the audience, the artists, the sponsors, the site and production suppliers and all the amazing people behind the scenes for the incredible support and good will they’ve extended towards the show and to us personally. We’ll see you legs ‘n’ all, bigger and brighter in 2009”
